The Beginning:
Pampco, Inc. was founded in the mid 1930's as the Pan American Metal Products Co. in Miami, Florida. The company began as a supplier of brass and aluminum leg ferrules for the growing furniture industry in the United States. It continued to operate there until 1965 when Pampco, Inc. was purchased by Carl Prestwood, one of the pioneers in establishing a local source of supply for the furniture factories in western North Carolina. He moved the machinery and equipment to Lenoir, North Carolina, which is located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Upon Carl's death in 1975, his son David began running the company and does so to this day. In 1983, David purchased Furniture Components, Inc. of Pawtucket, Rhode Island to further expand the capabilities of the firm and moved their machinery to Lenoir.
The Present:
Today, Pampco, Inc. continues to manufacture decorative and functional hardware for the contract and residential furniture trade. With the addition of David's son Adam now assisting with operations, Pampco is in its third generation with the Prestwood family! We welcome the opportunity to work with your design, engineering, and purchasing personnel in order to create a better product for your company.
